Huggies and CHFA working together

Nothing can make your child feel more loved, comforted and protected than a hug. But did you know that hugging sick babies and toddlers is proven to help them heal quicker?

At Huggies, we have long understood the caring and healing benefits of hugging which is why we’re excited to announce Hugs for Healing, an initiative to deliver support and care to Children’s Hospital Foundations Australia, the national fundraising partnership of five of Australia’s major children’s hospitals.

To start this partnership we’ve donated an initial $100,000, which is our “hug” for these five children’s hospitals.

Our donation will allow the hospitals to fund high priority pieces of equipment and services for sick babies. Our donation has directly funded three neonatal warmer cots, 28 new Bassinets for newborns, and an infant bronchoscope, to assist babies with respiratory difficulties. As a non-government organisation, Children’s Hospital Foundations Australia relies on the generosity and support of the community and from partnerships like Hugs for Healing.

More than 1.2 million sick or injured children are admitted to hospital every year, making this an incredibly important cause to support. This donation is just the start of things to come for Hugs for Healing as Huggies will also be giving you the opportunity to get involved later in the year.

In the meantime, you can find out more Children’s Hospital Foundations Australia here, or even share your own story if you have been touched by one of these hospitals.
