Any suggestions on how to keep him sleeping through the night in his own bed?
Every night for the past 9 months months my 2 year old son wakes up in the middle of the night and comes in to our bed to sleep. It was fine at first but now he wakes up screaming and pretty much waking everybody up its that loud! My husband and i seem to think it started when he went from a cot (made in to a toddler bed) to a single bed. We have recently moved house as well in the past month and he now shares a room with his younger brother, who also wakes now because of the crying and screaming. Any suggestions on how to keep him sleeping through the night in his own bed?
There seems to have been lots of changes going on, new brother, new bed, new house, and, because you`ve allowed him to come into your bed for comfort he now regards this as his sleep routine.
To change this, firstly he MUST go to sleep on his own and in his own bed initially at night so when he wakes on his light sleep he can resettle himself again. Next if he gets up you must continually quickly and quietly put him back over and over again just letting him know it`s time to sleep. Tough job I know but what you are doing now is tough too. I hope this helps.
