Now she won`t let me leave the room

hi maree,
my name is candan. i have a daughter and she is 21 months old. she was a really good sleeper and she used to slept eaxcly the same time everyday. I used to put her in cot around 7,then i left the room and she never cried. But now, sleeps at 8:30 or 9 pm. and she dosent want me to leave the room. Im staying with her almost half an hour, whenever i left she start crying.Sometimies she cried few minutes then sleept but sometime my husband go back to her room and put her to sleep.

My other proplem is,she still woke up at night for milk(she is getting cow`s milk). She started sleep throuh to night when she was 6 moths old but after she got her first teets(she was 12 moths old.) and untl now she always wokes up...

I really dont no what to do. i really need your advice.Thank u so much.

Answer: Hi Candan, It seems she is relying on your comfort to sleep initially at night and the comfort of the milk to return to sleep. I would suggest you stop the night feeding and allow her to have a drink before bed but in the lounge room and then put her to bed awake. You could try our 6 to 12 months It`s Time To Sleep settling program since she is still in a cot. It will take you step by step through the techniques to teach her to settle and to resettle when waking during the night without feeding her. Cheers, Maree
