How can I get my 3 month old to sleep in his cot during the day? He sleeps well in there during the night but will only sleep in his stroller ( flat but on slight incline ) during day.
He can wake once stroller stopped moving and will resettle himself, however even if we transfer him asleep to his cot he will always wake up after his first sleep cycle and won't resettle with our help. I have tried the shush /pat and white noise with limited success to get him into cot in first place. He can self settle at night though.
Encourage him to go to his cot and stop pushing him in his stroller. Essentially, if you want his behaviour and sleep associations to change then you need to firstly change what you are doing to support his dependence. The patting and shshing and white noise can certainly help but overall, you need to stop pushing him to sleep.
The fact that he self settles at night is reassuring in that you know he can do it. But in the same way we can all learn habits, we can also "unlearn" them.
Have you had him checked by your CHN and ensured his weights and growth are on track for his age and stage? It's important that he's feeding enough to support sound sleep.
The other issue which would be helpful is to check the settling/sleep information on the Huggies site in particular about responsive settling/hands on settling and also settling in arms.
