Answer: Hi, This is not an unusual age for babies to have changes in their sleeping patterns. As long as he is healthy and thriving and having enough feeds then it's unlikely there is a physical cause for his unsettledness. Though it would be useful to take him to your child health nurse just to be checked. Often at this age babies go through a growth spurt and want to feed more often. If breastfeeding mums can feel this is due to a low milk supply though in most cases it's just a reflection of the baby's growth and need for more kilojoules to fuel their growth. Try not to cuddle and rock him to sleep if this is what you're doing. Look for his tired signs after he's fed and place him into his cot when he's calm and sleepy. Then pat and soothe him when he's in his cot. Check the responsive settling/comfort settling guidelines on the Huggies site. There's some excellent general information regarding settling techniques. But for more individual ideas, your CHN would be the ideal source of information. Best Jane
