Can it interfere with her normal speech development?
Hi Jackie, I`ve heard that if I teach my baby the baby sign language that she will feel as though she does not need to speak, and that it may interfere with her normal speech development. Is this true?
Answer: Hi There, Baby sign language research highlights that if anything baby sign language accelerates the speech process. Part of the process of using baby sign language in your home is to sign the word and say the word. The reason to do this is to encourage speech. I hope this answers your question. Happy Signing! Jackie
