I find myself feeling very miserable and overwhelmed
Hi, i am 22 and have three children 3, 2 and 5 months, and while i dont regret them for a second i find my self on occasion feeling very miserable and overwhelmed. when i feel like this i think its pathetic and really selfish but i still cant help feeling like this. is this normal? Thanks
Hi, this is a very common feeling amongst mothers. There are so many changes when you have children, and you have had yours close together which is demanding in its own right. It feels overwhelming because there is too much to do, and at times it feels miserable because at times all we have done is domestic chores with lots of difficulties and non-compliance thrown in and few thankyous and pleases....Its feels pathetic because we think we should be able to do it all by ourselves all the time and it feels selfish because we always put ourselves last yet we do feel much better if we have some time to ourselves during the day...You are lovely and normal. Go back to basics. Slow some things down. Cut out one or two steps in your day to day routine. Breathe....deeply....slowly. Look at your children, their eyes, touch their skin and connect in ways you want to. Enjoy the moments you create. The rest is hard work which does not need to be endured but also can be enjoyed when you put your creative (and tired) mind to it.
