How can I get him to sit still, without him ripping at the pages or trying to eat the book?

Hi, I would like to start reading to my 11 month old, (we did when he was little but then he started to move about and didn`t want to sit still so we stopped). Well i would like to start again, just before bed so he gets into a routine. He`ll sit for my partner to read but not for me, my partner works 4 nights a week and i don`t wanna do it only 3 and not worry about the others. How can i get him to sit still for me? without him ripping at the pages or trying to eat the book??
do i also wait till he is really tired before i read to him?
Thanks

Brett...
Answer: Hi, Now is the perfect time to start reading together again! Getting into a `reading routine` is great for helping your child to take an interest in books. For example, if you read one book before bed, he`ll eventually realise bedtime is book time and will learn to settle down. It`s probably best not to wait until he`s `really` tired. Just let books become part of your normal bedtime routine. Start by reading shorter stories and work your way up to longer ones. Eventually he`ll get the idea! Brett
