Answer: Hi, Without knowing more about your baby's growth and weight gain between his birth and now I'm limited in how much information I can offer you. However, as a general rule, babies need to double their birth weight between 4-6 months of age. This is dependent on all sorts of factors but importantly, food and milk intake as well as environment and genetics. He needs around 4-5 milk feeds a day of either formula or milk and needs solids 2-3 times a day as well. I suggest you follow the guidance of your CHN who knows you and your baby's individual history. You may need to take your baby to a doctor just to be checked over. But if he's generally well and healthy and doesn't have any signs of illness then this is reassuring. Best Jane
