I haven`t had to give a urine sample to test for glucose yet. Is this the practice now?
Hi Alex, we are entering our 17th week of pregnancy and are having our monthly visits with our midwife. I haven`t had to give a urine sample to test for glucose etc as yet and wondered if this is the practice now? It was done religiously with our first baby 3 years ago. Thanks for your time, Regards Tina
Recently there have been a few research studies related to urine testing in pregnancy. All of the studies concluded that the routine testing of urine was found to be not useful when diagnosing complications during pregnancy. It is still used sometimes when a problem arises but not routinely in many places. So don’t worry if it is not done as this is now the normal.
