Answer: Hi, This is a great question. To the best of my knowledge this is not an uncommon situation and some kids do take a while to cry tears. In the absence of any other symptoms such as blocked tear ducts, yellow pus or sticky eyes or a history of having problems with blocked tear ducts I would assume everything is pretty normal and nothing to be concerned about. However, it would be worth mentioning to your GP next time you're there and having his eyes and tear ducts checked just to see that all appears fine. If necessary, the GP will recommend your boy is seen by a paediatric ophthalmologist who specialises in children's eyes and their treatment. Best Jane
